Athene's travel guide

My boyfriend plans another bomb trip! Lol, I basically said I wanted to go to Greece he planned it and I just showed up. I am that meme where the woman just follows their boyfriends to the airport, and the boyfriend has planned everything knows everything, and I have nothing going on in my head I just follow along. I am okay with that lol. I never shut off my brain this is the only time I am not thinking lol,

I feel like Athene's, Greece is so underrated. Everyone loves the islands, and they are pretty too. However, Athene's has so much to offer, and was my favourite part of our trip to Greece.

We booked a few tours. Which was so much fun. We did the same thing when we went to Mexico. It is a great way to see everything, and know the history.

How long to stay in Athene's ?

We stayed for about a week and I think it was the perfect amount of time. We did not see everything. However, we saw all the main things we wanted too. We also had chill time, it was a great balance. I do think you could do it in less time if you are not able to stay that long.

Where to stay in Athene's?

We got an AirBnb in the city across from the Temple of Olympian Zeus. We woke up every morning to that as our view!

Here is everything you need to do in Athene's:

Acropolis of Athens, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Temple of Hephaestus

We did these all in one day, with a tour guide. It is all so close together, easy to walk as well.

Acropolis of Athens

A battle between Athena and Poseidon Took Place on the Acropolis. Where she won because she offered an Olive Tree- that is where olive trees, olive oils and olive became such a big part of Greece. You would win a olive branch at the Olympics back in the dizay.

There are also stages for theatres where people would perform. As well as the Nike Temple.

Temple of Olympian Zeus

At the centre of the Greek capital, Athens. It was dedicated to "Olympian" Zeus.

Temple of Hephaestus

The Temple of Hephaestus was dedicated to Hephaestus, the Greek god of blacksmithing, and Athena, the goddess of pottery and crafting. You can see the detailing, it is crazy to think how people made these temples

Shopping in Athene's

Obviously, go into the Chanel, Prada, Dior all the brands we love but also go to the area of Plaka. That is where you find good deals, souvenirs, some great Greek designers.

There area also so many amazing restaurants there. You have to go both during the day and night.

The Greek food

We went on a food tour and I highly recommend. A local showing you the hidden places that make it all authentic and everything from scratch. OMG one of my favourite parts of the trip.

We ate so many desserts, went on a olive tasting, olive oil tasting, honey tasting etc..

Everything we ate at restaurants was so good.

-popolaros brunch bar

-la nonna

-stone

-any gyros place

We went to so many other spots that where great as well. I was also so impressed with the decor within each restaurant. Every restaurant is so different from the outside in.

Meteora

A must see! The largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries.

Temple of Posiden at sunset

Sailors and mariners believed that storms resulted from Poseidon's wrath, and the temple served as a palace where they hoped to appease Poseidon and find favor.

To see this at sunset is a must!

There is also a beach below that has a view of the Temple.

It was so much fun, the locals are so nice, its a great trip to even do alone. I felt super safe and relaxed. The city has so much to offer, so much to do!

Athens is beautiful- and HUGE! I didn't realize how sprawling of a city it was until we visited a few years ago. It's amazing! I'm so glad you had a lovely time!
